My blog has moved...

Hello!

It's been a little while since I posted here on blogger.

There is a reason for that.  I have made the decision to move my regular blog posts over to my website.  It's all in a bid to streamline the way I work and carve out more time for designing and drawing.

The first blog post on my website can be found here:

I am going to give it a try and see how it goes.  I may be back to blogger one day (never say never).  There is a link to the blogger achieve over on the side bar of the new blog and no doubt I will link to previous posts that are relevant as and when I want to share things of interest.

Blogger has been good so far.  It suited my needs from the beginning - but now I have LOTS of sites on the web to keep updated, what with my online shops and social media. To have a few less sites to maintain seems to make total sense to me as it frees me up to do what I really want to do - create illustrations and designs.

So there it is - as I enter my sixth year of blogging, it will be over on my website.

Thanks for all the support, I hope you continue to enjoy my new posts over in their new home.

Best wishes

National Stationery Week & Amazing Adventures..

Hello,

This week has been National Stationery Week.
To celebrate, subscribers to my newsletter will be receiving an email today with a 20% off discount code for my Etsy and Folksy shops.  The code will also work at my website shop as I am currently trialling Etsy's 'Pattern' e.commerce site.  Which I have to say I am impressed with and feel that it's a keeper.  It makes managing my online listings so much smoother and, like Etsy, it's very good at easily enabling customers to chat to me to discuss orders and ask questions, so that's a huge positive...

Talking of stationery, I have introduced a new weekly planner to my shops, ideal for planning holidays and days out.  You'll find my 'Plan Amazing Adventures' notepad listed here:

If you'd like to take advantage of my exclusive discount code for subscribers, you can join my mailing list by filling out the form on the link below:

Feels odd to be sharing sunshiny designs with you when some parts of the UK has snow!
It's good to dream and make plans...and with a bit of luck perhaps this snow means that the summer will be a scorcher after all.

I hope you have amazing adventures this weekend

Very Pheasant To Meet You...

Hello!

My goodness, it's April already.
I feel like I've fallen off the blogging train a little.  April is always a chaotic month for me - we have many birthdays & celebrations in our house this month, including my own - so it's hard to remain focused as family life takes over.

That said, it's the social media stuff that has suffered more as I have lots of ideas for illustrations brewing at the moment and have been enjoying spending some precious creative time at my desk.

I think it's about time I started gathering some of the new work and sharing it here on my blog.
These pieces have been shared over on my Instagram and Facebook pages, but I think it's nice to put everything together and showcase them here (if only for me to document my work as it progresses)...

Today's piece is a woodland creature inspired illustration featuring a badger and pheasant which I've named 'Very Pheasant To Meet You'.  This pair began as a little sharpie sketchbook doodle following a weekend walk on The Quantock Hills, just a few short miles from our house....

The colours are certainly inspired by the hues of the wild flowers in the nearby woods.

I've already added this new design to my Society 6 and Etsy shops, but have plans for this to become part of a new mini collection...

I hope to be back here soon to share more work in progress and inspirations.

Have a lovely week
Best wishes

Something Pinteresting - Hello Spring...

Happy Good Friday!

It's been a little while, but I thought it would be nice, with the clocks changing on Sunday, to bring back my 'Something Pinteresting for The Weekend' series.  It's a series I've run in the past on a Friday, where I share some favourite pinterest discoveries based on a theme.  This week's theme is 'Hello Spring' and the images and more similar can be found on my pinterest board called 'It's a Spring Thing' here:

So, from the top, we have the sweetest little bunnies by Mayumi Maeda....

The mixed media painting above is called 'Spring Garden' and is by Josephine Grundy - I love the use of colour and the little pops of white blossom against the grey blue sky, it's very evocative of spring...

as is this utterly gorgeous painting of spring flowers by Emily Sutton...

The delicate watercolour flowers above are by Yao Cheng and is called 'Rose Bouquet'...

Above is a jolly spring themed fabric by Lewis & Irene...

I hope these pinterest finds are filling you hearts with inspiration and a joy for spring, as much as they do for me.  All that's left to say is 'Hello Spring' - and the delightful illustration above by Kate Mason does that so well.

Have a very lovely weekend & Happy Easter!
