Wall Decal Designs for Higher Shorston Lakes & Lodges

Meet my snooker and darts champion bunnies!...they've been commissioned by Higher Shorston Lakes & Lodges resort in North Devon. Higher Shorston is what we call our little piece of heaven in Devon - its wonderfully peaceful, naturally beautiful, very eco friendly and has great self-catering accommodation (awarded gold by enjoyengland.com). We love it, its a brilliant place to take the family for a few days rest (especially if any family members enjoy a spot of coarse fishing).

This commission came about after I'd designed a brochure for the resort. Recently, Higher Shorston had been granted planning permission to install some yurts and build a games room for the families staying in those yurts (I don't think it'll be too long before we are one of those families doing a spot of glamping in a yurt!). The games room build is coming on a treat (as you can see from the photos below) and needs a spot of something eyecatching on the walls. That's where my snooker and darts bunnies will be...

...My designs are currently at the printers being turned into vinyl wall decals, I will post up some photos of the finished designs in situ as soon as I am able to. Meanwhile, enjoy having a look at the other photos I've posted here of Higher Shorston Lakes and visit their website (link below). It really is a fantastic place and having stayed there a couple of times I can completely recommend it.

Themed Web Banners & Avatar Designs

Here are some designs I've just completed, they are themed versions of the Little A Designs logo and web banner package I created a couple of weeks ago. Working on this job has inspired me to want to do something similar with my own branding in the future (...if only I can find some time to work on it!). I really enjoyed working on these designs as I was left to play around with colour and details and really have some fun!

New Spring Greetings Cards Have Arrived

Oh I do love a parcel from the printers!...today it was a box filled with fresh, spring greetings cards. 5 new designs in all. One just for Easter (as above), two spring flower note cards, a thank you card design and I let one more, very special design creep into the order.....

....well, I couldn't resist getting 'My Sunshine' printed as a greetings card - its proved so popular as a print.

I'm going to be a busy bee uploading these to my website and folksy in the next few days. And, I have a couple of commissions on the go at the moment too, so will have more new things to share soon :-)

A new design for Little A Designs

Here is the new logo and web banner design bundle I've created for Little A Designs.

I've had a fab time working on this brief as I was asked to do a couple of options which enabled me to have a good play with different colours, patterns and typography. The brief was to create something with an air of enchanted forests about it and to sit alongside all the wonderful handstitched delights created by Marna, the creative talent behind Little A Designs.

Marna has a great eye for colour, unique and charming fabrics and quirky details on the cushions, hanging hearts and little birds she creates. Her designs are often personalised and she currently has a great range of gifts for mothers day in stock on her website, go see for yourselves: www.littleadesigns.com

Below is the design that got away - it was the first option I presented, but we agreed that maybe it was a bit too 'Country Cottage' for Marna's designs. The fabrics she uses tend to have brighter, fresher colours. Also, during the process of designing these logos, Marna commissioned the fabulous Skull & Crossbuns to create a rubber stamp of a stags head for Little A Designs - a design which I've now included in the final web banners.

Spring has Sprung!

The daffodils in my garden are looking beautiful at the moment - what a jolly site to see out of my window!

Its given me a spring in my step and plenty of inspiration - I love spring in all it's joyful colours. This week I've managed to get a few new greeting card designs done to sell on my site, on Folksy and at future craft fairs. With Easter looming the designs are all influenced by spring. The colours I used in a couple of the designs I feel work well as prints too, so I've framed them and put them in my Folksy shop: www.folksy.com/shops/artworkbyangie

Watch this space as my new greetings cards will be delivered soon. I can't wait, I love getting parcels from the printers!

Time to Imagine Cupcake Castles....

It's turned out to be a busy few weeks for me, I've just completed a logo and web banner package for a fantastic business called Cupcake Castles. Liz from Cupcake Castles creates the most wonderful children's clocks and mirrors all based on themes that children imagine when they play - you can choose from princesses, mermaids, fairies, dragons & knights to astronaughts!

Each of Liz's creations are handmade from wood & clay, painted in stunning colours & can be personalised. I'm in love with her work and am trying to decide which ones will be going on my Christmas shopping list this year!
Here's Liz's website so you can see for yourselves : http://www.cupcakecastles.com

I'm also working on another logo/web banner design for another craft business (all will be revealed on here soon)...and I've been asked to design some images which will be printed as wall decals to go in the games room at a holiday resort in North Devon....I best stop blogging and start drawing!

New Owl & Moon Print on Folksy

I've been having a little rush on my Sunshine prints lately - probably because everyone is fed up with winter and wants some sunshine back in their lives!.
However, I thought it would be good to offer an alternative to my sunshine print...something that featured the moon. I must admit, I do my best creative work once the sun has set, surely I'm not alone?
This print is especially for all us night owls. It has been inspired by a line from Edward Lear's 'The Owl and The Pussycat': "Pussy said to the Owl 'You Elegant Fowl...' " - what a fabulous line that is!
My moon & owl print is now available unframed from my Folksy shop: www.folksy.com/shops/artworkbyangie
