Sleepy Cat in a Spring Garden - Playing with Patterns

Hello,
Hope this blog post finds you well.

The past couple of weeks have felt like a little bit of a struggle as it's the season of colds and flu and I've been carrying my dose around with me, which has left me feeling a little lack lustre.
So I felt it was important to carve out some creative play time.  For me that meant exploring a little more pattern making. I'd drawn some spring flowers in my sketch book that had been inspired by the little snowdrops and crocuses that are popping their heads up in my garden and making me smile...

I scanned the drawings and started adding colour.
The bright zingy orange of the crocus seemed to determine the colours and made me think of a certain marmalade coloured tom cat that frequently visits our garden - so he's made it into the designs too...

All in all, it's been a fairly good way to nurse a cold and I feel like I've achieved something - even if it wasn't what I was supposed to be achieving!
As John Lennon once said "Time you enjoy wasting, was not wasted!"

My new Sleepy Cat design is now available to be printed on demand onto all kinds of everything over at my Society 6 shop.

Have a lovely day!
Best wishes

End of January Offer....

Hello,

Hope you are having a good week.

The great news is...we've pretty much made it through January!
I don't know about you, but I find January the toughest month - it's all the dark gloomy weather, the short days, the hangover from all the Christmas over indulgence.

I want to celebrate getting through those weeks with a little offer over at my Folksy and Etsy shops, to coincide with the launch of my valentines and mother's day cards and prints for this year.

Mother's day in the UK is early this year - Sunday 6th March, so this offer is an opportunity to stock up on cards for both occasions for less.
For 20% Off at my Folksy and Etsy shops, simply type the following code in when checking out any orders made before end of Sunday 31st January:

Have a lovely weekend

Best wishes

New Collection for 2016 'Home Is...'

Hello!

This week lots of my designs headed off to the Giving and Living Trade Fair in Exeter, hoping to find lots of new stockists in the region by adorning the stand of my friends at publishers The Heart of a Garden.

Some of those designs included my brand new collection for 2016 'Home Is...'.

Now that they have been showcased at a trade fair, I can finally do a proper reveal of all the designs in this collection.  Followers of my social media last summer would have seen teasing glimpses of these designs in development...

This collection is a celebration of home comforts and all the wonderful things that make a house a home.  There really is no place like home after all!...

I must confess, there has been more than a little inspiration taken from my own home life for this range!...

There are twelve designs in the collection, some of which have already been released as illustration prints over at my Etsy shop...

The greetings cards are now available for wholesale orders via The Heart of a Garden.
The cards are 160mm x160mm, Eco-friendly cards: Card from responsibly managed forests (FSC®), vegetable-based inks, recycled paper envelopes, compostable outer slips...

I should be receiving my first stock of these in the next few weeks, so they will be added to all my online shops as soon as I have some with me....

I hope looking at my new collection makes you feel very warm and cosy.

Have a lovely week!
Best wishes

A Fresh Look for a New Year...

Hello!

Hope you've had a good first week of a New Year.

I've been getting back in the swing of work.
The dark early mornings have been a bit of shocker at first, but it all feels like routine again now....

One of the things I had on my wish list for 2016 was to sort my website out and make it much more smartphone and tablet friendly.

Let's face it, that's how a lot of people view websites these days.  This became a bit of a priority for me after I realised how much internet surfing I do on my phone these days, especially over recent weeks with Christmas & January sale shopping....

So, after a fair bit of faffing about for a few hours under the bonnet of my website (and maybe a few naughty words uttered under my breath as I tried to get my head around it all) I think it's finally how I envisaged it and am delighted to say...

Ta Da!

Here is my new look website, which should now be much easier to read and navigate from your phone or tablet:

What a relief and such a good feeling to finally cross that task off my list.

I hope you have a very productive week too.

Best wishes
